Exciting game-drives
Expert Tanzanian &Beyond guides will lead you on interpretive, twice-daily game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles into the game-rich Serengeti National Park, boasting the largest mass of free-ranging animals on earth. As there are only two small camps in this remote park, you almost never see other safari vehicles. Sundowners on the Kirawira Hills are a memorable way to end a day’s safari.

Excellent birdwatching
With over 341 species recorded, birdwatching around Grumeti is exceptional – birdwatchers almost always exceed their sighting targets.

Lake Victoria excursions (optional extra)
Enjoy a day trip to Lake Victoria – Africa’s largest lake and the second largest lake in the world – situated 50 kilometres (31 miles) west of Grumeti River Camp. This exciting outing includes a safari, a visit to a local village and a panoramic view of the Lake from Speke Bay.

Cultural visit (optional extra)
This full-day excursion into the neighbouring Bunda district showcases various empowerment projects providing a fascinating insight into the lives of the local communities.

Exhilarating day and night game-drives
Expert &Beyond rangers and guides will lead you on interpretive game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles in Klein’s private wildlife concession and into the Serengeti National Park – a photographer’s dream. Action-packed night game-drives are unique to Tanzania, offering guests extraordinary game viewing from lions or leopards hunting to an array of nocturnal species such as genet, civet and owls etc

Interpretive bush walks
Klein’s is the only camp in Tanzania to offer exciting one- to three-hour wilderness walks led by skilled &Beyond guides and Maasai trackers. Views on the crest of the Kuka Hills are exceptional – thousands of buffalo and elephant herds may be seen grazing in Klein’s private concession or in the Serengeti to the west. Learn more about Maasai medicines made from trees, plants and seeds, and view spectacular birdlife including the magnificent Verreaux black eagle.

Thrilling safaris: Lake Manyara Tree Lodge’s remote location in the southwestern region of the Park, only one kilometre (0.62 miles) from the extraordinary soda-rich lake, offers guests exciting safari adventures at no additional cost.

Exhilarating game-drives
Professional and skilled &Beyond safari guides will lead you on interpretive game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles in the game-rich Lake Manyara National Park. Due to the Lodge’s secluded location, there is minimal vehicle intrusion, allowing for leisurely tracking of the Park’s famous tree-climbing lions, and uninterrupted viewing of flocks of pelicans and flamingos in the lake.

Birding safaris
With 387 different bird species recorded here, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge offers abundant birdwatching opportunities led by a specialist &Beyond safari guide. Our birding safaris take you from the beautiful soda lake where you will spot hundreds of thousands of flamingos and pelicans, to the evergreen forest inhabited by various species including the silvery-cheeked hornbill.

Lakeshore picnics
Enjoy a delicious breakfast or picnic on the lakeshore while viewing flocks of pelicans and flamingos with buffalo and hippos cooling in the water.

Night Drives at an additional cost
&Beyond guests are now experiencing incredible night drives from Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. They have been treated to lion, leopard, wild dog, large packs of hyena with pups, huge pods of hippo out of the water, porcupine, bush baby, genet cats, awesome night skies and much, much more. Manyara's night drives can be part of the afternoon game viewing extending into the night, or they can commence after an early dinner. The cost of this experience is subject to change (the bulk of these costs are paid over to Lake Manyara National Park in the form of extra park fees). The lodge requires 24 hours notice to organize and reserve night drives, so pre-booking this memorable experience is advisable.

Cool island adventures: The calm warm seas around Mnemba offer irresistible water activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, fly fishing and swimming directly from the beach at no additional cost. Excellent birdwatching, beautiful walks around the Island or simply suntanning on the pristine beach may also be enjoyed. Optional extras include diving courses, deep-sea fishing, a tour of the ancient ‘Spice Island’ of Zanzibar, and a range of relaxing massages and therapeutic treatments.

Scuba Diving
Mnemba boasts some of the world’s most beautiful dive sites. The clear blue seas provide unsurpassed visibility for both snorkelling and scuba diving enthusiasts – we will provide you with all scuba and snorkelling equipment needed. Just a short boat trip from the Island, coral reefs drop into the deep open sea. You can enjoy two dives daily led by our experienced dive instructors. Please note that a valid diving certificate is required.

Scuba Diving Courses (optional extra)
If you don’t have a diving certificate, Mnemba offers a professional dive school for beginners. Speciality dives include deep, night, navigation, drift and peak performance.

Deep Sea Fishing (optional extra)
Mnemba is situated near the Pemba channel which is renowned for its excellent big game fishing – Mnemba supports tag and release fishing. Big game fishing enthusiasts are catered for on a well-equipped boat, which can be hired complete with tackle and crew. The big game fishing season runs from July to March, with plenty of Yellowfin Tuna during the summer months. Billfish (sailfish), black marlin, striped and blue marlin tend to run from October to March.

'Spice Island' Tour of Zanzibar (optional extra)
Explore the markets of Stone Town with memories of its extraordinary romantic and often violent past – dating back to 800AD when Arab traders first arrived on the islands – evoked by ancient ruins, shady cloisters and the rich aromas of cloves, cinnamon and coconut.

Exciting Game-Drives
Expert &Beyond guides will lead you on interpretive game-drives in closed 4x4 safari vehicles with pop-up roofs into the Crater (half or full day) and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, boasting exceptional game and bird viewing opportunities. Driving into the Serengeti is an optional extra, and highly recommended during the first four months of the year.

Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands (optional extra)
Explore the roots of mankind on our half or full-day excursions to the famous archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge – a 60-minute game-drive from the Lodge. There is a fascinating museum at the Gorge, and the volcanic ash dune of Shifting Sands situated nearby is an absolute highlight.

Crater picnics:
Enjoy lavish picnics or bush brunches on the Crater floor.

Ngorongoro Massages (optional extra)
To ensure your stay at Ngorongoro is as memorable and relaxing as possible, we offer a range of therapeutic treatments, from head and neck shoulder massages to aromatherapy sessions.

Private picnics and sundowners (optional extra)
Private picnic sites on the Crater floor may be reserved – advance notice required. Sundowners just 20 minutes from the Lodge overlooking Lake Eyasi are memorable.

Maasai cultural visits (optional extra)
Visit a Maasai boma (traditional village) in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Browse through the local handicrafts or watch traditional Maasai dancing.
